The music on this CD was recorded during the course of a weekend in the Concert Hall of Stockholm in Oct 1999. A full house heard 1400 students from the Adolf Fredrik Music Classes and the Stockholm Musikgymnasium sing in celebration of the 60 and 40 year anniversaries of their respective schools.

The students sing four concerts, each student is included at some point in the selection on this CD.

The Svanholm Singers, a young male voice choir, has achieved a meteoric career during a very short space of time. The choir itself is not only young, but the members also; around 20 men aged 18-23. They established themselves both nationally and internationally at competitive level right from the start in November 1997 with Grand Prix at Apeldoorn, Holland, followed by the "Toner för Miljoner" prize, Sweden, 1998, and Grand Prix at Takarazuka, Japan, 1999.

This CD, their first,  will be released at the "Toner för miljoner" concert at the Globe arena, Stockholm on November 20

Juleglädje

Pontus Lindkvist, one of the leading boy sopranos in Europe is singing the music of his choice accompanied by a jazz combo led by Nils Lindberg including the soprano saxophone genius Anders Paulsson, members of the Swedish Radio orchestra and Chorus. The music includes new arrangements by Nils Lindberg, traditional Christmas songs and classical pieces. Director of music is Margareta Juul Montelius.

The Messiah for Young Voices is an adaptation by Timothy W. Sharp. The Choral parts are abridged and arraged for a two-part youth choir, whereas the solo and orchestral parts are performed in the original.

You need JavaScript enabled to view it from Foundation Schola Cantorum de Caracas, Venezuela visited Stockholm participating in the Midwinter Music Festival. We recorded the program in a separate recording session in one of the famous concert halls in the Stockholm area. The music repertoire this time includes many pieces originated in South America performed with percussion instruments and guitars. The choir this time were 45 people from 30 countries.

Kring Tomasmässan i Helsingfors har en ny musikrörelse vuxit fram. Två av dess främsta företrädare, Annna-Mari Kaskinen och Pekka Simojoki, har skrivit orginatexten och musiken till dessa sånger. Per Harling har skrivit svenska texter och Helén Tanzborn har utarbetat gestaltningsdanser till sångerna.

Månadens Psalm

Detta är en dubbel CD med musik och CD-ROM och är en del av ett studiematerial för skolan. Skivorna innehåller 53 psalmer sjungna av musikskoleelever i Örnskökdsvik, Lund och Linköping samt av körer från Oscars församling i Stockholm. CD-ROM-delen innehåller utdrag ur psalmboken med ackordanalyser, bilder från inspelningarna och exempel från studiematerialet.

Månadens psalm är avsedd som en hjälp att återuppta den gamla fina traditionen att sjunga psalmer. Materialet bygger på erfarenheter från en mer än tioårig verksamhet i en låg- mellanstadieskola i Örnsköldsvik. Hela skolan samlas en gång i månaden till en hela-skolan-sjunger-samling, där alltid en psalm ingår i programmet.

Boken innehåller ett urval ur Den svenska psalmboken, både klassiska och nya psalmer, fördelade terminsvis över en sexårsperiod. Till varje psalm finns en kommentar som ger bakgrunden till psalmen och förklarar svåra ord och begrepp.

I redaktionen har ingått Gunnel Fagius, musikkonsulent, Per Harling, präst och musiker, Per Olof Nisser, f d domprost i Linköping och tidigare sekreterare i psalmkommittén, Ulrika Sjölander, musiklärare i Örnsköldsvik.

Stockholms musikgymnasiums first CD with music from the swedish choir repertoire and lucia- and Christmas songs.
This CD is a multisession production with more than 65 min of a capella choir music and a CD-Rom part with sightseeing in the school, general information about the school itself, sound tracks and pictures covering the musical directors, excerpts from the music scores as well as all texts and pictures from the recording sessions.
The CD-Rom track is a CD-XA track after the usual music tracks and in a second CD session, that is not seen by a CD music player The information is stored in HTML-format.

Multisession CD with CD-ROM track in addition to the music tracks. The CD-ROM track contains several pictures from the recording session and pictures of the choir, information about the Carol singing tradition as well as texts and pictures abour the conductor and the soloists.

Lars Angerdal at the main organ of the Uppsala Cathedral. This is the first recording made at this organ, some of the material was recorded by us already in 1978, the rest was recorded during dec 1996.
