History of SonoConsult
SonoConsult started as a partnership between Rolf Ingelstam and Håkan Sjögren 1969. At that time both of us worked at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm in the fields of Audiology and acoustics.
We recorded all of the recordings for Proprius during 1969-1973. Some of these recordings are still available in shops and on the Internet both as LP:s and transferred to CD. During this time SonoConsult gained its reputation on sound quality using relatively few microphones, well positioned in carefully selected rooms. The first Proprius releases were with the Arne Domerus Jazz combo (Bengt Hallberg, Egil Johansen, Georg Riedel and others) and Leif Strands Kammarkör. Shortly thereafter followed recordings of the Adolf Fredrik Bach Choir with Anders Öhrwall and recordings of the Gothenburg Chamber Choir with professor Gunnar Eriksson.
In addition numerous church organ records were made, all released on the Proprius label. During the 1970:s we were responsible for the electro-acoustic equipment in the concert hall of Stockholm. Several recordings of the symphony orchestra were made during this time. In the late 1970:s and 1980:s we recorded for other labels among others the Christmas and Lucia song records by the Nacka choirs directed by Carl-Bertil Agnestig. A CD on the label Aksent, distributed by Naxos was released in march 1999.
