Download Verify
CD and documentation from here.
You will find the file download.htm in this ZIP file. Doubleclick on this and
you will be taken into the real VerifyCD download page, which gives you four
alternatives:
.MSI with and without Java JRE
.ZIP with and without Java JRE
·
If you know that you have a Java JRE or JDK installed, we suggest that you
download the no_Java alternative.
If you downloaded a .MSI alternative simply click on the downloaded file
and installation starts
If you downloaded a .ZIP file, unzip this into a Program directory e.g.
c:\Program\VerifyCD
Documentation is provided in the folder “doc” and also available by clicking
the Help buttons.
If you get the message:
"No JVM could be found on your system.
Please define EXE4J_JAVA_HOME to point to an installed JDK or JRE"
you could either download Java from http://java.sun.com
or download the verifyCD version including Java and reinstall VerifyCD as
described above.
Run the DEMO version
When you click (or double click) on the VerifyCD icon, the demo version will
start:

The demo version has full functionality but is limited to 5 minutes of
comparison. Enter or browse for the two sound files to compare and hit Start.
Supported formats are WAV, AIFF, SND and AU. The professional version also
supports image files from CDRWIN, Eclipse and Pyramix.
Bit depths 8,16, 20 and 24 are supported.
Sampling
frequency and bit depth must be equal.
Alternatively you can change the "File" into "Cd
Reader" . In this case you will see a list of your CD readers and can
select any of those. The reading of the CD is automatic and uses storage in the
temporary folder as specified in the Options dialog.
To verify the installation we suggest that you first use the same file and enter
the same file name for the two files in the VerifyCD window. Then hit the
“Start” button. This should give the result “Equal files”. Then use a
different file for sound file 2. Maybe you could use your sound editor to make
some changes e.g. introduce a click or pop or simply make digital zero data for
a few ms somewhere. Run VerifyCD again, the difference will be flagged.
The same data as you see in the VerifyCD window is written into the file
VerifyCD.log in the same folder as sound file 1 (or in folder as specified in
the options window) The name VerifyCD.log can be changed by entering a name in
the "Optional ID" box.
When you are satisfied that this
works you may want to purchase.
Hit the “About” button to
find the website “Purchasing information” or read Purchase.htm.
Uninstallation
Use the Control
panel/Uninstall programs.
